I went to our Thomas Family Reunion today. It was well attended and I enjoyed getting to see my cousins and Aunts.

I didn’t wear mascara because I was afraid somebody would say something nice and I’d cry.

But nobody mentioned Ben. Even though I haven’t seen most of those people since he died, not one person mentioned it.

Not one.

Debbie Vausse obliquely referred to it with “I’ve been praying for you honey.” I appreciate her taking a moment to tell me that.

People suck.
